Terms of use

Plenty of Tools is a collection of free tools that run entirely in your web browser. Using them means you agree to the plain terms below. They exist so that what you can expect from us, and what we can expect from you, is written down.

What you get

• The tools are free to use, for personal or commercial purposes, with no account and no limits imposed by us.
• The source code is published under the MIT licence on GitHub. You may run, copy, change and redistribute it under that licence.
• Your files, text and other inputs stay on your device. Our privacy page describes the small amount of data the site itself sees.

What you should know

• Provided as is. The tools are offered without warranty of any kind. We work to keep them accurate, but you are responsible for checking the output before you rely on it: a signed contract, an invoice sent to a client, a photo you deleted after converting it, a transcript used as a record.
• No liability for loss. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using, or being unable to use, the tools. Where Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, those still apply.
• Availability. We may change, pause or remove a tool at any time. Because the tools run in your browser, an open copy usually keeps working until you close the tab, and the code remains available on GitHub.
• Third party services. Some tools connect to a service you choose to sign in to, such as Google Drive for the Storage Analyser. Your use of that service is governed by its own terms. We request the narrowest access the tool needs, and you can revoke it at any time from the tool or from your account settings with that provider.
• Acceptable use. Do not use the tools to break the law, to infringe someone else's rights, or to interfere with the site or its hosting. Do not misrepresent output from a tool as something it is not.

Google user data

The Storage Analyser reads Google Drive file metadata with your permission and processes it in your browser only. It does not store, transmit or share that data, and its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Questions: open an issue on GitHub.
