How this works, and what it is not
- Nothing is uploaded. The PDF is opened, drawn on and saved entirely inside your browser. Two open source libraries do the work: pdf.js to display pages and pdf-lib to write the result.
- Your signature is placed as an image, text as real text, ticks and crosses as vector lines, on top of the original pages. The result is a normal PDF anyone can open.
- It is the same kind of signature Adobe's Fill & Sign or a printed and scanned page gives you, which is what most forms, leases and permission slips ask for. It is not a certified digital signature with an audit trail. If a counterparty needs identity verification and a signing record, that is what services like DocuSign are actually for.
